New Braunfels

New Braunfels is a city near San Antonio, Texas. The Comal and Guadalupe rivers wind through the town, passing by parks Cypress Bend and Landa. The city is also home to Gruene Historic District, which preserves many of the original 1800s German buildings. Natural Bridge Caverns is a limestone cave, while Schlitterbahn Water Park features slides, wave pools, and rides. Check out beautiful Canyon Lake.


Visitors can experience genuine German food in the city's historic downtown. The Friesenhaus serves a hearty German breakfast seven days a week, and ten different kinds of schnitzel. The central area of the city also has the largest park in the state of Texas - the Main Plaza.
