The state capital of Texas is located in Austin TX, a large inland city that is bordered by the Hill Country region. The university's flagship campus is located in Austin, and the town has a thriving live music scene. The area is also known for its lakes, parks and hiking trails. The Circuit of the Americas racetrack is popular for racing and has hosted the United States Grand Prix. The area is home to many historic buildings, including the Capitol Theatre. The city grew rapidly, becoming a center for government and education, with the building of the Texas State Capitol and the University of Texas at Austin.
